Where is God in the Middle of Grief?

đź’” Post:

Where is God when you’re grieving?

It’s a question I’ve asked through tears, silence, and sleepless nights.
When I lost my son, I felt like the air had been taken from the world.
When I buried my husband, I couldn’t believe I was saying goodbye again.
When I lost my mother, the woman who prayed me through so much… I felt completely undone.

So where was God?

đź’¬ He was right there.
Not fixing it. Not rushing me through it. Just… present.
He was the stillness that calmed my panic.
He was the whisper that told me to keep going.
He was the hand I couldn’t see but always felt.

There is a quiet kind of faith that comes not in the miracles, but in the moments when you survive what you thought would kill you. That’s where God meets you. Not just in the church pew or the praise song—but in the heartbreak, the hollow moments, the middle of the night.

This chapter of my journey, and of my book, is about learning to trust God even when it hurts to breathe. It’s about believing that His love doesn’t abandon you when life falls apart. If you’re in that place right now, I want you to hear me:

You are not alone. God is closer than you think.
